Crafting Unique Silver Creations

Welcome to On the Back of Jasper, where passion meets craftsmanship. As a small independent silversmith, I create exquisite, handcrafted silver pieces that tell a story.

Inspired by the incredible landscapes of India which she had seen on her yearly travels to India, Laura started playing with the texture of the silver plate to see what could be created that was reminscent of her trips to the Ganges River in Rishikesh, the mountain passes of Ladakh, and the roads of India - the very roads she travels on. She is passionate about the nuances of silversmithing and finds pleasure in the intricacies of each design - the flaws, the uniqueness in each piece telling its own tale of India.

As her love for India grows, so does her collection - 2022, 2024 and 2025 saw her create pieces in both the UK and Rajasthan, honing her fine silversmithing skills and moving into chain work and even repairs.

When Laura is at home in the UK - Northumberland - she is able to draw from the colours and landscapes off her home surroundings - from the woods of the North East of England to the rugged coastlines. Her first collection - seen on Instagram in 2022- shows her connection to English folk and fairytales.
